This engraved, solid-wood oak cabinet has been handpainted in a variety of bright and beautiful colours. The functionality of the piece could take on many forms: drinks cabinet, TV-stand, sideboard etc. I was drawn to painting this piece for its unusual and quirky design and wanted to keep a large proportion of the hardwood visible. The whole thing, including the wood, has been waxed with clear wax which not only gives a very soft and delicate texture but also a subtle matte finish.

I have chosen to enhance the mandala-style pattern in the wood and brought it life using colour.

This piece is extremely well-made and, whilst it has been up-cycled, it is in ‘as new’ condition in terms of the fixtures and fittings.

This is absolutely a statement piece of furniture and one that combines my love of colour, pattern and texture as well as quality craftsmanship.
