‘Marriage’

There’s a story with this one: it was made about 100 years ago by someone who was trying to tell the story of marriage (albeit a rather depressing outlook). In the first image the man and woman are courting and in love. The second image shows them married where the lady is left to make her own way over the fence and carry her own umbrella. Even the dogs are fighting!

It is solid wood and carved. I have painted it to bring the story to life.
