This vintage display cabinet was never going to escape my painty clutches. ‘They don’t make ‘em like this anymore’ (read with cackling Essex nan voice please). The unusual glass panelling and the height of this piece really make it stand out. I have created an ombré from Annie Sloan Graphite to Chicago Grey whilst also bringing a Florence and Aubusson custom shade to the top glass sections. I wanted to acknowledge the beautiful wood by bringing it into the design in the top section: it makes a beautiful contrast to the paint. Inside, the fabric is painted as a vignette behind the glass shelves and I have kept the pattern visible. You may notice a thin gold strip around the base which I have painted to balance the gold leaf handles. Waxed with clear wax. Please be in touch for dimensions.
