This piece was pure indulgence on my part. I was inspired by Kandinsky’s love of circles but wanted to create something a little more structured. The original lead on the glass doors has been used to plot my circles with freehand scrapes of colour to balance. I worked with a palette of four Annie Sloan colours (Amsterdam, Capri, Old White and French Linen) but a variety of textures within that palette. The main body has a very smooth and flat finish, the circles extremely textured and then I plastered the sides before painting and used white wax to emphasise bringing in yet another element. The paint on the glass has been sealed with Chalk Paint gloss lacquer whilst the main body of the piece with clear wax.
